Trinidad & Tobago Emergency Mutual Aid Scheme (TTEMAS) Introduces their New Executive Team

TTEMAS is a mutual aid organization based in Point Lisas, the acronym TTEMAS stands for Trinidad and Tobago Emergency Mutual Aid Scheme. TTEMAS was established in 1983 and became a body incorporated by an Act of Parliament (Act No 8 of 2000).

The objective of Mutual Aid is to render assistance to member companies within the Point Lisas Industrial Estate and surrounding residential communities in emergencies; fire, environmental releases, disaster preparedness, emergency response training etc. The organization has been in existence since 1983 and is presently headed by its president, Mr. Deonanan Jagdip.

TTEMAS recently installed its new Executive Management Team at a special in vesture ceremony conducted by Methanex President/CEO Mr. Charles Percy at Methanex Trinidad Limited. The Executive was elected at the Organization’s Annual General Meeting held on March 20th, 2010 at Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd. Rio Grande Drive, Point Lisas. This new executive will serve for the period 2010 to 2012.

TTEMAS is launching a campaign to increase the awareness and understanding of the benefits of emergency mutual aid management. The objective is to create a group of professionals dedicated to providing support to the member companies. In addition, TTEMAS seeks to extend its membership to smaller organizations within the Point Lisas Estate and also to companies in other heavy industrial sectors as well as the light manufacturing industries across the country.
